Why Offering My Services for LGBTQ+ Weddings Is So Important to Me

jes-stretton

Hi, I’m Jessica Stretton, and I’m a musician who feels incredibly passionate about making every wedding I play a celebration of love, authenticity, and joy. But today, I want to talk about something close to my heart: why it’s so important to me to offer my services for LGBTQ+ weddings.

As a lesbian, I know firsthand how important it is to feel seen, respected, and celebrated—especially on one of the most special days of your life. Planning a wedding is exciting but can also be daunting, particularly when you’re navigating a world where not every vendor might fully understand or embrace your love story. That’s why I’m deeply committed to being an LGBTQ+ supplier, and it brings me so much happiness to offer my services to couples within our community.

Representation Matters

When my wife and I started planning our own future, I realized just how much of a difference it makes to work with vendors who truly get it. There’s something comforting about knowing that the people helping to bring your dream wedding to life see and celebrate your relationship as completely valid and beautiful.

This is why representation in the wedding industry is crucial. As an LGBTQ+ supplier, I aim to create a space where couples feel completely at ease, knowing they don’t have to explain or justify who they are or the love they share. I want every couple I work with to feel that their day is uniquely theirs and that their story deserves to be celebrated in the most authentic way.

Why I Love What I Do

Music has the power to bring people together, evoke deep emotions, and make unforgettable memories. For me, being part of someone’s wedding day is an honor I don’t take lightly. Knowing that I can help make the day of two people in love even more magical is why I do what I do.

For LGBTQ+ couples, music becomes even more meaningful—it’s a way to express love and joy in a world that hasn’t always celebrated us. To be part of that moment is incredibly fulfilling. I love watching couples share their first dance, hearing their laughter during the ceremony, and seeing them be unapologetically themselves with the people they love most.

The Importance of LGBTQ+ Wedding Suppliers

Having LGBTQ+ suppliers in your corner can make all the difference when you’re planning your wedding. We understand the nuances, the challenges, and the beauty of being part of this community. We know how important it is for every detail to reflect your unique story.

When you book me as your musician, I bring not only my skills and experience but also my full support for your journey as a couple. Whether it’s choosing the perfect song to walk down the aisle or creating a playlist that makes everyone hit the dance floor, I’m here to make your day as seamless and joyous as possible.

Love Is Love—and It Deserves to Be Celebrated

At the end of the day, love is love. No matter who you are or who you love, your wedding day should be a celebration of everything that makes your relationship special. Being able to provide that for LGBTQ+ couples is a privilege I’ll never take for granted.

If you’re planning your wedding and looking for a musician who will celebrate your love just as much as you do, I’d love to hear from you. It’s my mission to create unforgettable moments, and I can’t wait to help make your special day everything you’ve dreamed of and more.

Love,

Jessica
